After spending much of the Summer in the UK and all the nonsense that started the year, September has been very much like starting all over again. Some may see that as frustrating, especially considering how busy I was but with hindsight it’s been perfect.
Starting at Warrior’s Heart has been like a mini relaunch, new surroundings, new people and a new approach from my side. Although the 35+ sessions a week were good for my ego, fitness and the landlord, I’m now focusing on less sessions of a higher quality on all sides.
Chris and Fred have both been spot on in welcoming me to the Academy and as they are both adults, I’ve tried my best to act like one. They are established, understand the industry and have been very easy to deal with in making plans for the future.
First of those is The Warrior’s Heart Boxing Series, which I have been trying to establish for years and can now finally launch on 15th December. The event gives anyone who wants to compete, the opportunity to do so in a very safe and fair environment. The event will be streamed live free of charge, we have a ref coming from the UK, qualified medics and some great little fights lined up already.
Working outside was how it all started back in the UK and it’s good to be outside again. It’s obviously a different environment to being inside but there’s always something entertaining happening. From those who can’t resist a little shadow box as they walk by, to people marching past with trees they have just helped themselves too and lots in between…there’s something for everyone
Although The PT Mentor has been focussing on himself over Summer, things are still ticking over in the background. Again the additional time will help me develop further but it will remain very much a side hustle, as work is still work.
On the personal side, less sessions gives me more time to train myself and that’s vital for me. Most busy PTs will struggle with their own training but for me a brutal session on the bag is the biggest buzz I can get…bit weird but I never said I wasn’t
Have Fun!
